As you begin to spruce up your office environment for spring, MD Building Services recommends several important health related tips you should consider to ensure a healthier, happier work space this year.
Kick your spring cleaning into high gear. Thoroughly dust and clean or replace and repair air ducts and vents to decrease your exposure to pollens and other airborne allergens.
Do a top to bottom inside an out in your restrooms, go the extra yard.
Make hygiene in the kitchen or pantry a priority too. Clean kitchens can reduce the risk of foodborne diseases. Keep preparation surfaces clean and use separate cutting boards and cutlery.
Check in on needed office repairs. Fix plumbing leaks or (hidden) water damage as quickly as you can to prevent mold from growing. You may also want to inspect furniture desks and chairs and shelves to be sure they remain sturdy and in good repair. Pay particular attention to guardrails, protruding bolts, splintery wood and other potential sources of injury.
Give your rugs and floor a pat on the back for enduring another winter by providing them a professional shampoo or polish if wood or marble floors.
Finally, before you sit down do this…
Take a walk! This may not be spring cleaning related, but you may not have been able to take a walk a lot this winter. It doesn’t have to be high-intensity or a workout. Just do it for the fresh air and sunshine. It will do you and the company good!
